Osram introduces Night Breaker 200 halogen range

With the winter season looming, Osram’s Lighting Marketing Manager Terri Clark introduces the company’s Night Breaker 200 halogen range.

Along with cold weather, winter brings with it darker and shorter days, so good quality lighting on a vehicle is essential. With this in mind, Osram wants to provide the UK’s technicians with the latest developments in lighting technology.

Nearly a fifth of vehicles will fail their MOT this winter because of an issue with their lights, usually for something as simple as a blown bulb. It’s therefore really important for technicians to carry out quick and easy checks on the car’s lights during a service or before an MOT – it’s key and simple to resolve.

With an anticipated 60% of all annual MOTs due to take place between July and December this year, workshops should ensure that they have ample stock of bulbs ready to meet this demand.

Osram’s latest launch, the Osram Night Breaker 200 halogen upgrade range, offers motorists the best and brightest bulbs on the market, with 200% brighter light than required by law, significantly improving road illumination and safety.

By using cutting-edge technology, our Night Breaker 200 upgrade halogen bulbs deliver a high light output. The powerful headlight bulbs are up to three times brighter and provide up to 20% whiter light. The light beam extends up to 150 metres, and the strong luminosity of the bulb provides improved, wider visibility. This range of performance bulbs complements the existing halogen and xenon bulb portfolio of the Night Breaker Series. Osram’s Night Breaker 200 is available now in H4 and H7 ECE bulb types.

The good news is that traditional lighting technologies, such as Halogen and HID, will be around for a considerable time to come, and that means the most up-to-date solutions, such as whiter or brighter light, can still be retrofitted to older cars. This provides profit opportunities for factors, garages and workshops to upsell to upgrade bulbs, leading to satisfied customers who will be able to see more and feel safer on the roads at night.

Furthermore, bulbs should always be changed in pairs even if only one has blown, as it is not only a safer and more practicable option, but it presents an additional opportunity to upsell. Most of Osram’s upgrade bulbs are sold in twin duo packs – making it easier to upgrade.

We are also pleased to be launching a Counter Display Unit (CDU) for the lighting season. The CDU comes complete with seven H7 duo packs and three H4 duo packs.
