BM Catalysts celebrates 20 years of Reed Mill facility

BM Catalysts has announced it is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of opening its Reed Mill manufacturing facility.

In 2001, BM Catalysts purchased the 83,000 square foot premises to expand production and develop its processes. It was also the year that current Managing Director, Toby Massey, the third generation of Masseys, joined the company full-time.

Reed Mill is one of two sites owned by BM Catalysts and is home to almost 200 staff members along with key business functions, including product development, CNC tube cutting, bending, final assembly, warehousing, dispatch and head office teams.

At Reed Mill, BM Catalysts took delivery of its first CNC machinery shortly after purchasing the premises, which allowed for precision engineering and large-scale production.

Over the last 20 years, since the acquisition of Reed Mill, BM Catalysts has achieved a number of milestones. These include continual expansion of its product offering, winning a number of business and manufacturing awards, and celebrating 50 years of business to name a few.

Commercial Director at BM Catalysts, Mark Blinston, said: “The investment in Reed Mill was very significant – and a bit of a gamble really. But it certainly paid off! It meant we were able to purchase our first CNC high-tech machinery, leading to greater outputs and enabling the company to grow.”

Holly Brailsford, Marketing Manager at BM Catalysts, added: “Half of the Reed Mill building used to be an indoor go-kart track, so that gives you a good idea of the sheer size of the facility. The building has enabled us to develop our processes and build on our reputation for high quality UK manufacturing.”

To celebrate reaching its 20-year anniversary of Reed Mill, BM Catalysts is giving 20 people the opportunity to win an array of BM Catalysts branded merchandise, with one lucky winner also in with the chance to bag an Amazon Echo Show.
