Schaeffler expanded the Vitesco portfolio

After launching the Schaeffler Vitesco brand with a range of NOx sensors last year, the company has expanded the portfolio.

Sensors, actuators, purge valves, reductant dosing units, high-pressure pumps, transmission control units (TCUs), plus diesel and petrol injectors, are all included in the update.

Transmissions, like DSG and PowerShift, use a TCU to control gear shifting accurately. Mass air flow (MAF) sensors calculate the optimal air-fuel ratio for efficient combustion, while NOx sensors set standards for accurate nitrogen oxide measurement, supporting efficient exhaust aftertreatment and global environmental compliance.

Temperature sensors provide precise data for efficient fuel consumption, reliable emissions management, and a long engine life, while pressure sensors detect potential issues, like leaks in the intake or fuel evaporation systems, acting as early warning systems.

The Schaeffler Vitesco actuator range includes electronic throttle control (ETC) and air control valve (ACV) for diesel engines. ETC regulates airflow to control engine load and speed, while ACV manages fresh air intake, optimises exhaust gas recirculation, and prevents ‘shut-off shaking’.

Schaeffler says Vitesco products are all manufactured to genuine OE quality standards.
