Ivor Searle emphasises importance of customer service

Ivor Searle’s main mission is to provide you and your customers with products produced to the highest standards, according to David Eszenyi, Ivor Searle’s commercial director.

Serving over 1,500 factors across the UK and EU, Ivor Searle is an independent producer of remanufactured automotive major units. Established for more than 75 years, the remanufacturer offers an all makes range of petrol and diesel engines, cylinder heads, gearboxes and turbochargers for cars and LCVs. Its products cover over 90% of the UK vehicle parc and the range is constantly being extended.

With a large product portfolio to offer, does Ivor Searle’s customer service matchup? David responded: “Good customer service is vital to the success of any business in terms of the goods and services they provide and their interactions with new, existing and potential customers alike. This is particularly relevant for distributors serving the automotive aftermarket, where a supplier’s swift response in terms of product availability, pricing, delivery and technical support can make all the difference when it comes to securing a workshop order for the motor factor.

“Furthermore, good service from a supplier to the workshop ultimately helps motor factors to secure repeat business and referrals. With this in mind, we hold comprehensive stocks to ensure first-class customer service and minimum vehicle downtime and provide free next-day UK mainland delivery on stock items ordered before 3.30pm.

“We also aim to make the exchange process for major units as easy as possible for workshops and provide purpose-designed cradles for the delivery of our remanufactured engines and return of the exchange unit, to ensure the process is safe and straightforward.”

Ivor Searle’s highly experienced sales team handle around 600 telephone enquiries per day, supporting both you and workshops throughout the UK, plus a growing number of customers in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.

A full e-commerce website has also been introduced, which enables you to gain quotes quickly, check availability and place orders online. Featuring a VRN lookup facility, as well as search by vehicle make, model or engine code, the website also includes a host of information, such as technical details and major unit installation instructions.

David added: “Alongside the website, we have also transferred the majority of our communication with factors to the digital medium and have recruited new staff with specific digital expertise to deliver this.”

Service also matters when it comes to warranty protection. To guarantee peace of mind, all Ivor Searle engines, cylinder heads and gearboxes are covered by a transferable 12-month unlimited mileage parts and labour warranty, while a two-year warranty covers all turbochargers.

Every product is also supplied with preinstallation guidelines for the workshop and model-specific instructions where required. In addition, all Ivor Searle professionally cleaned DPFs are provided with an inspection report and carry a no quibble, 12-month unlimited mileage warranty.
