Servicesure and Recharge Rescue unite for EV drivers

National garage programme Servicesure Autocentres has announced a partnership with Recharge Rescue, which claims to be the only insured product specifically designed for EV drivers, providing 24/7 emergency roadside charging.

Servicesure maintains it is the UK’s fastest growing network of garages, with more than 600 members across the UK. Since March 2022, the programme has run EVsure, an add-on for its members who are accredited to IMI Techsafe Level 3 that offers benefits for garages that work on EVs.

Recharge Rescue was identified by Servicesure as a product that fitted into its EVsure ecosystem, providing customers with the reassurance that should something go wrong – and they find themselves out of charge on the road – they could rely on a 24/7 service with mobile EV charging units that will attend, charge, and get them back on their journey.

Servicesure is run by GSF Car Parts, a motor factor that reportedly has 180 branches supplying OE parts, garage equipment and specialist training.

GSF Car Parts Head of Servicesure Paul Dineen said: “We’re delighted to be working with Recharge Rescue to give added value and total peace of mind to EVsure customers.

“Servicesure is at the forefront of the industry and our members are progressive garage owners who are committed to offering a high quality, professional and friendly service. Our industry is quickly adapting and evolving to the electrification of UK vehicles, so partnering with Recharge Rescue is another excellent way for us to support EV drivers above and beyond the trip to their local Servicesure garage.”

EVsure garages are said to have access to benefits including: national branding and promotion, discounted technical advice and equipment, and exclusive professionally accredited training and development to ensure they offer quality service to all EV drivers.

Recharge Rescue Co-Founder Bruce Compton said: Recharge Rescue is a new and unique insurance, so partnering up with Servicesure to support their EVSure customers is both an exciting opportunity, but also a logical support mechanism for their existing EV drivers, and a helping hand for drivers considering the move from ICE to electric, by providing total peace of mind”.
