Major fire engulfs Bradford-based motor factor

A large fire swept through Heaton Motor Factors yesterday, leaving both floors of the building severely damaged. No casualties were reported by West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

The blaze affecting the branch on Leeds Road, Bradford – there is another on Oak Lane in the city – triggered the closure of a large section of the road with barriers still in-place this morning.

After crews were mobilised shortly before midday, the fire service said the incident was then “scaled down” at 3pm. An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway but, as of last night, the building is inaccessible.

According to Heaton Motor Factors’ website, it has been in service for more than 30 years and welcomes customers throughout West Yorkshire, including those in Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
