First Line has announced it has extended its wiper motor range to include two rear wiper motors.
The FWM1008/BMW1008 for the Audi A3, A4 and Q5 2003-2013 and the FWM1009/BWM1009 for Volkswagen Golf, Passat and Tiguan 2005-2018 have all been added.
To complement the range, the company under its Borg & Beck brand also offers a wiper blade programme including conventional, flat, spoiler, hybrid, rear, and flat rear blades covering all sizes to fit all popular vehicle applications.
First Line and its Borg & Beck brand offer a range of wiper motors, all of which are a direct replacement for the original equipment (OE) component. To further assist technicians, First Line also supplies all the necessary nuts and bolts, as standard.
Availability is key in the aftermarket and the company has found that, due to vehicle defects, some motors are more prone to failure than others. For instance, the Renault Clio wiper motor (FWM1004/BWM1004) reportedly fails as a result of being submerged in water due to a blocked drain channel, it is, therefore, recommended that factors keep a stock of this reference.
With the season now changing and the weather going from heatwaves to rain, it’s important to review and potentially replace the wiper blades. As wiper blades are the driver’s main defence against rain and allows them to see clearly, it’s vital that they get them checked in preparation for winter.
Being constantly exposed to changing weather conditions and temperature changes, the rubber blades will inevitably deteriorate over time, which could affect visibility and become dangerous. It is, therefore, best practice to change the wiper blades annually as a matter of course and not left to deteriorate to the point where smearing affects visibility.
