Autoparts UK & Midwest Motor Factors has announced it is slowly reopening branches, as it looks to support customers carrying out essential repair work.
First on the list were Autoparts Glasgow and Midwest Bilston, with both branches opening again on 27 April.
Autoparts Inverness, Newcastle, Stoke, Aberdeen, Trafford Park Manchester and Sighthill Edinburgh then followed suit, opening on 4th May. All branches and staff will adhere to full social distancing measures and government guidelines.
Craig McCracken, Group Factor Manager, said: “The safety, health and wellbeing of our staff are paramount and we are gradually reopening our branch network to ensure we continue to meet demand from independent garages.”
Over the past few weeks, the company has made resources available, providing 400 vehicles to NHS and frontline workers free of charge to help them get to work.
Employees have also responded to the government’s call for help and have been volunteering within the NHS, while also providing roadside recovery, emergency repairs and parts for all emergency vehicles where necessary.
Autoparts UK, Midwest Motor Factors and Monmore Auto Parts has also supplied 10,000 disposable seat covers for use by NHS staff.
At Autoparts UK, a team of 10 specialist parts people has remained in place to assist blue light workers. Each individual will identify the parts required, collect stock from the branch and deliver it to their premises or be available for collection.
At every Arnold Clark rental location, there has also been vehicles made available for essential community groups to assist local people with food and supplies.
