Steve Carolan, Dayco’s National Sales Manager, discusses the opportunities that the company’s wheel bearing kits offer factors.
Dayco, an OE manufacturer and supply partner to vehicle manufacturers across the globe, is continuing to expand its aftermarket product portfolio to reflect the needs of the service and repair sector. It regards its introduction of wheel bearing kits as a significant step for motor factors and their workshop customers.
In keeping with the company’s reputation for production expertise and customer support, quality and range are naturally to the fore, as these components are manufactured to OE quality standards and provide a high level of coverage for the European vehicle parc.
“Drawing on its recognised strengths for technical knowledge and capability, and as a world-leader in drive system design and production, the introduction of wheel bearing kits marked a significant but natural step for Dayco: to add safety related products alongside its established drive systems expertise,” explained Dayco’s National Sales Manager Steve Carolan.
He continued, “The Dayco range encompasses Generation 1, 2 and 3 technology, as well as bearings integrated into the brake disc. This reflects the complexion of the current European vehicle parc and thereby provides factors with the depth of range they need to be able to offer workshops the replacement products they need day-to-day.
“To underline the ongoing development of the range, more than 30 additional part numbers, primarily integrated discs/bearings, have been introduced since the launch of the programme last year. These additions are predominantly for French applications, such as multiple generations of Renault Clio, Espace, Kangoo, Laguna, Megane, Modus and Trafic, likewise PSA models, including 207, 2008, 307, 308, 3008, C3, C4, DS3, DS4, Berlingo and Partner, which tend to favour the disc/bearing combination as the braking solution for the rear of these vehicles.
“Clearly, astute motor factors are always on the lookout for additional benefits that the products they supply can bring to their workshop customers. So, another strength of the wheel bearing programme is Dayco’s longstanding commitment to not only provide technicians with the very best replacement components in terms of their quality, but also to assist them when it comes to their installation.
“This practice continues with its wheel bearing kits, which, as well as coming complete with all the necessary ancillary items, such as nuts, bolts, pins or circlips, also include fitting instructions and technical tips that can be viewed via a QR Code on the product packaging to ensure they are installed correctly and in the most efficient manner.
“Naturally, Dayco is also concerned with the practical processes at the wholesaler level. Factors can be assured of quick and accurate part identification, with the full range of products being hosted on the Dayco Webcat, a user-friendly portal that can be accessed via desktop/laptop, or through an app to a mobile device, and provides users with multiple search routes from make and model or OE/Dayco part numbers to linked components on related searches.
“The combination of OE equivalent quality, exceptional customer support, and technical information, alongside a growing portfolio of products that includes belts, tensioners, idlers, dampers and pulleys, as well as water pumps and thermostats, means that Dayco’s wheel bearing programme not only provides the ideal replacement solution for the professional technician, but also allows factors to offer a wider range from a single trusted supplier.”
