Unlike braking, with its ECE R90 regulations, there is no mandatory filtration standard for manufacturers or suppliers to adhere to, according to Comline; however, that hasn’t stopped the supplier from taking its responsibility to provide the industry with a tried, tested and trusted filter range seriously.
Every Comline filter is manufactured inside audited production facilities; therefore, each part number meets its brand quality standards and follows ISO 9001, ISO 140001 and TS16949 certifications.
Comline argued that it is sticking to its end of the bargain, but what about further down the chain? Recent years have been tough on many people – and continue to this day – so there has been potential for lower-grade filtration products to make a more pronounced mark on the industry, claimed Comline. Quality might be jeopardised by using inferior materials or filters being produced in factories which may not have the credentials that Comline has, for example.
According to the company, the difficulty is that this leads to a false economy, as poor filtration could lead to higher repair costs if the part fails – in particular with engine oil filters. As a consequence, sticking with engine oil filters, this inferiority can lead to engine damage or even failure. Given that motorists are already feeling the pinch, this is one that they will want to avoid.
Millions of filters sold around the globe!
Proud to offer an expansive ‘all-makes’ filter range, Comline distributes millions of own-brand filters every year. Air, oil, fuel, cabin and carbon: “You can’t go wrong with a Comline filter; performance and reliability is always impressive, and the brand does a great job keeping its range up-to-date,” said Rory, a Comline distributor based in Ireland.
Switching to cabin filters, these are designed to protect from contaminants: allergens, dust mites, pollen, toxic fumes and dirt, not to mention bad odours. Comline reported that its carbon activated range helps prevent respiratory problems, cardiovascular issues, allergic reactions, asthma triggers and carcinogenic effects.
They remove micro contaminants, such as toxic gases like benzine and ozone. Clean, filtered and oxygenated air will reduce fatigue, improve concentration and fend off window misting.

First for filters
Product reliability needs to be matched with accurate data. Comline possesses the “gold standard” in this field. Last year, it was presented with the prestigious ‘Premier Data Supplier’ honour by TecDoc.
Premier Data Supplier status is for suppliers whose data meets the “high-quality standards in a special way” and “contribute to sustainable sales success” – and Comline’s portfolio of 14,000 part numbers – which includes filtration, as well as braking and steering and suspension – fulfils that strict criteria.
