Founded in the early 1970s and based in Ireland, Strongline Autoparts is a national wholesale automotive parts distributor, which supplies motor factors, government bodies and engine manufacturers. Strongline has a “strong commitment to continual investment in technology” and chose MAM Software as its provider for both hardware and software solutions.
Strongline Autoparts decided that Autopart Online was the solution to modernise its company. Autopart Online is a “versatile business management software that integrates sales, stock management, accounting and reporting processes in one easy-to-use package”.
Autopart Online is also a cloud-based solution, with servers located in a data centre. A cloud-based solution increases security, removes the need for on-site servers, and the maintenance required to ensure they run effectively, according to MAM.
Strongline Autoparts Director, David MacNeany, said the move to Autopart Online was a success: “Almost 100% of the set-up was via remote implementation without any downtime.”
Once implementation was complete, the company observed significant improvements across their system – David continued: “The first thing staff noticed was the speed improvement. Previously, our salespeople would be waiting around for processes to complete and now they were happening instantly!”
The staff also revealed how easy it was to save files directly to their desktop, while printing capabilities had increased.
David added: “The printing may as well be a local printer – it’s that good! No matter the printer type, there are no dropouts.”
While Autopart Online aided Strongline in its day-to-day processes, David also noticed how well the change from on-site servers to cloud solutions aided the business: “We were having to come in on a regular basis to fix or reboot the server; for example, there may have been a Microsoft update in the middle of the night, and this would generally stop the end-of-day completing. With Autopart Online, none of this is a problem, as it’s all taken out of our hands, and I can’t remember the last time a day-end has failed.”
Using a cloud-based solution ensures that all Microsoft updates and Autopart version updates are conducted by MAM and are done out of hours to ensure this does not disrupt working hours. A move to MAM’s cloud-based solution ensures data is protected due to the security features it offers.
Strongline Autoparts has successfully transitioned to using Autopart Online and is now looking at its next investments to continue growth as a business – David concluded: “The next module we will be looking at is barcode scanners, possibly starting with the goods-in module and expanding further as time goes on.”
MAM Software Director, Mick Forrest, said: “I have been happy to see Strongline Autoparts go from strength-to-strength in the automotive industry and the part that MAM Software’s applications have played in this. Utilising the right packages, it has excelled in the automotive aftermarket, and there are many more applications available which will help the business even further.”
