VARTA has announced that they have joined The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) in the UK.
Technical Sales Manager at VARTA, Andy Cook, has confirmed the association with the organisation, adding: “Clarios, the Company behind the VARTA brand, are the largest battery manufacturer in the world, and that status naturally comes with longstanding and successful OE partnerships on a global basis, so joining OESSA makes perfect sense for us. Our new membership will help us support the independent garage further, especially in the area of new technology, where we have battery expertise on features like start-stop, where eight out of 10 start-stop cars fitted with an AGM technology battery, is one of ours.”
Andy added: “Our strategy is in line with everything they represent; fitting the highest quality OE parts to customers’ vehicles.”
Original equipment suppliers work with vehicle manufacturers to produce parts and systems to exacting specifications, which conform to rigorous material and manufacturing quality and safety standards. VARTA joins the likes of Schaeffler, ZF, Denso and Hella as manufacturers supplying the same parts to the UK aftermarket, as they do to vehicle manufacturers’ production lines.

OESSA “Back on Track” campaign
OESAA is currently supporting garages by running a ‘Back on Track’ campaign which will see approximately 3,000 free ‘Back on Track’ packs of workshop POS and essentials delivered to UK independent garages. The new pack contains a floor sticker, hygiene hook, window sticker, three A2 posters and a British made washable face mask.

The OESSA team have also put together an interactive ‘COVID-19 awareness’ training session and assessment based on industry guidelines produced by the leading trade organisations. The team at VARTA are urging garage owners and staff to take part in this free training, which comes with a poster to download for display in their receptions, to provide peace of mind to their customers.
