RAC selects LKQ Euro Car Parts for supply deal
LKQ Euro Car Parts has become the ‘tier one’ supplier of car parts to more than 150 RAC Mobile Mechanics across the UK, as part of a new deal agreed with national driving services and roadside assistance giant RAC.
LKQ will also be the preferred supplier to the RAC’s Approved Garage network – said to comprise of 900 garages that have been evaluated by RAC as providing a guaranteed high level of service.
The four-year deal will see LKQ exclusively supply the expanding RAC Mobile Mechanics service, which is designed to enable customers to book a mechanic for servicing, diagnostics or vehicle health checks, at their home or workplace at a time that suits them. Launched in 2023, the service reportedly covers 80% of UK postcodes.
The new agreement builds on an existing 10-year partnership between LKQ and the RAC which involves providing parts to 1,600 RAC breakdown patrols and collaborating on fleet telematics and driver monitoring.
The deal is said to be the latest in a spate of high-profile contract wins for the motor factor, with it recently announcing its new role to act as the primary supplier of parts, oils and lubricants for the 184 Protyre Autocare branches over the next five years.
