LKQ Euro Car Parts had been announced as the headline sponsor for the first Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards, hosted by the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF).
Held on the evening of Wednesday 7 June at Hilton Metropole NEC to celebrate achievements across the garage industry, the ceremony will be held against the backdrop of the largest automotive aftermarket trade exhibition in the UK, Automechanika Birmingham. Nominations for the awards are already open and can be submitted online here.
LKQ Euro Car Parts will be the headline sponsor for the Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards hosted by IAAF, which brings together a celebration of the aftermarket’s achievements and the Federation’s lobbying activity. The nationwide distributor will also exhibit at Automechanika Birmingham 2023 with its display showcasing its activity across the UK automotive industry.
Andy Hamilton, chief executive officer at LKQ Euro Car Parts, said: “Recognising best practice within the aftermarket is an important step in driving the whole industry forward, so it can continue to support livelihoods and offer a top quality, great value, local services to consumers and businesses across the country. Garages, bodyshops and the thousands of people that work for them are the lifeblood of our industry, so it’s only right that we celebrate their contributions and achievements.
“The IAAF plays such an important role in supporting the independent aftermarket, so it means a lot to be able to stand alongside them as sponsors for the launch of these awards.”
The Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards, hosted by IAAF, will celebrate the very best of the garage industry and acknowledge the commitment and dedication independent garages and technicians have made to ensuring affordable mobility in the UK over the past few years.
Nominations for each award can be made here, with eight different awards categories available, recognising a variety of attributes from business operations, customer service, marketing campaigns and community initiatives.
The IAAF membership is now available to independent garages, with the federation campaigning on behalf of garages to ensure they receive access to vehicle manufacturer data, and ensuring their voice is heard on Block Exemption Regulations (BER) and Type Approval legislation, as well as fighting to retain the annual MOT test.
Mark Field, IAAF chief executive, said: “The Federation has experienced more demand from garages who would benefit from IAAF representation. As we step up our offering to them, we’re grateful to have the backing of some key names in the industry. LKQ Euro Car Parts is a great example of this in their sponsorship of the upcoming awards ceremony, which particularly resonates as it’s the first of its type hosted by the IAAF, to reward and recognise garages’ contribution to the industry.”
“Our new awards at Automechanika Birmingham 2023 are an opportunity for us to showcase the best of the best in the industry – and is another step in the right direction for us in bridging the gap between garages and the rest of the supply chain.”
Further sponsorship opportunities for the Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards, hosted by IAAF, will be announced shortly.
