Checking the battery of every vehicle that enters a workshop is important at all times of year, but never more so than in winter, according to GS Yuasa.
The colder the temperature, the harder batteries have to work to provide reliable starting power. In fact, a battery loses about 30% of its power on a freezing winter day when compared to a summery 20°C, according to GS Yuasa, which is why battery failure is more likely over the colder months and why it’s so important to check them.

Marathon Warehouse Distribution, which announced a “strategic distribution agreement” with the battery manufacturer and supplier back in November 2022, urged factors to “talk to us about the GS Yuasa range of workshop testing tools and accessories and give your battery business a boost”.
Relationship with Marathon evolving
At the time of the distribution agreement announcement, Marathon confirmed that it would keep the full range of automotive batteries, both in GS four-year and Super Start two-year warranties, and that the range will develop with commercial, marine, garden, leisure and motorcycle batteries.
