Connect Workshop Consumables says talks about the impressive range of point-of-sale displays it can provide to assist motor factors.


Connect says that purchasing OEM trim clips can be an expensive business, which led to the company’s introduction of first trim clip carousel three years ago. According to Connect, factors and their customers immediately took to it because of its offering of the most asked-for trim clips in a convenient, easy to access counter-top display.

This success prompted the decision to offer a full range of striking, informative and easy to use POS displays.

Initially the range of innovative counter-top carousels was expanded, adding more trim clips plus all new carousels for sump plugs and washers, and electrical blade fuses. Now the company offers presentation stands for assortment boxes, racks of trim clips targeted at specific marques (German vehicles, Asian vehicles, for example) and hose clip racks.

The new carousels include another trim clip carousel which contains 36 different clips (including 19 clips new to the Connect range), presented in easy- open packs. Clearly labelled, the clips’ replacement OEM references are included on the pack.

Sump plugs

The new sump plug carousel contains 32 popular plugs (sold singly), together with four popular replacement sump plug washers. A full range of replacement sump plug washers is also available from Connect. The new electrical blade fuse carousel, contains popular standard, mini and micro blade fuses along with the three most popular maxi blade fuses and two standard blade fuse holders.

Another recent introduction is the trim clip tower stand, which brings together 121 different trim clips in blister packs of four, together with 12 Laser trim clip tools. Each blister has the OEM application code on the reverse and the stand is supplied with a comprehensive manufacturer look-up guide and re-order cards to benefit both factors and their customers.

Ease of identification

The Connect POS displays offer an eye catching solution to attract the consumables customer, and are claimed to assure sales, due to the ease of identifying the required part and the comprehensive range available.

The retail offering to the factor is backed up by a comprehensive web site that features easy to use search engines: the trim clip finder, the sump plug finder and the auto bulb finder. And making use of the latest technology, the trim clip, sump plugs and fuses can be displayed at 1:1 actual size, no matter what size and resolution of monitor you are viewing.

A 392-page catalogue also showcases the full Connect range and features the 1:1 scale illustrations for trim clips, sump plugs and fuses.

Case Study: Nyanza Autoparts, Coventry

Established in 1981, Nyanza Autoparts has grown to become a large, independent, family run, distributor.

Owner Sasch Raichura, (pictured right) with Sales Representative Rod Lawton, is impressed with the Connect point of sale material: “When customers are in the queue and looking around they are drawn to the trim clips stand as it’s something different that we are offering.

“Most garages believe that they have to go to a main dealer to get the trim clips which can be very costly and time consuming. Having the stand in the branch is great as the customer can identify the clip using the application guide on the side of the stand and match it up to the clip they have. The clips come in packs of 10, so being sold at 40p per clip is a huge saving as some main dealers can charge £8.00 plus just for one.

“Sasch feels that another huge benefit for the customer is the time saving. “The display stands also assist our counter staff as the comprehensive application guide means that the customer can easily find the required clip themselves,” he explained.
