IAAF’s Enrichment Days aim to inspire future talent

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has launched a series of ‘Enrichment Days’, a new initiative aimed at introducing schools and colleges to the career opportunities within the automotive aftermarket industry.

The Enrichment Days will involve students visiting IAAF member businesses across the UK to gain first-hand insights into the sector.

From exploring products and services to learning about the roles that drive the industry forward, these sessions are designed to inspire the next generation of talent while addressing the skills gap in the trade.

The initiative also complements the IAAF Training Academy, which continues to promote higher standards and professional development across the aftermarket, according to the association.

Mark Field, Chief Executive of the IAAF, said: “The automotive aftermarket offers hugely varied career options across many roles, and it’s time we shone a light on these opportunities. These enrichment days highlight to schools and colleges the scale and expertise across the entire aftermarket supply chain and support these institutions in bridging a gap between education and employment.”

The first Enrichment Day took place at Delphi Training Academy Warwick with students from the Heart of Worcestershire College in attendance. Open to all IAAF members nationwide, the Enrichment Days aim to strengthen connections between the education sector and the automotive aftermarket, claiming to raise awareness of the industry’s importance to the UK economy and the rewarding careers it can offer.
