Klarius Products discusses peak MOT season

September and October were seen as ‘peak MOT season’ after the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency announced it was expecting more than seven million MOTs to take place between those two months. Klarius Products tells PMF how it got ahead of the curve.

Range and availability were the two main priorities, enabling distributors and stockists to provide workshops with aftermarket emissions products.

With assured availability for any component in its range, the manufacturer of aftermarket exhausts offers distributors and stockists next morning UK delivery on 90% of orders placed before 5:30pm.

“We provide the most complete range of aftermarket exhausts in the UK, covering over 11,000 applications,” claimed Klarius Sales Director, James Ellison.

“We operate a next morning delivery service across this extensive range, which ensures that we can quickly deliver popular and niche components exactly where needed. This service also helps free up valuable inventory space and working capital for our customers, by removing the need to hold an extensive stock of parts.

“Knowing that Klarius can deliver the high-quality parts rapidly is vital for distributors, helping them to support garages and, as a result, motorists.”

A strategy for success

Klarius employs a range of tactics to provide its delivery service:

Its manufacturing practices, influenced by market demand, ensure equal stock levels for both popular and slow-moving parts warehousing capacity means that components are ready for fast dispatch when an order is placed. The company’s own logistics fleet, AutoLogistiks, operates from multiple depots throughout the UK to deliver Klarius parts to distributors and stockists quickly.

James added: “Our lean supply chain is highly efficient, robust and proactive. This ensures that whether a replacement catalytic converter for an old sports car or an exhaust for a popular modern hatchback, we can offer the same lead time to stockists and distributors.

“As a result, service workshops can receive parts faster, allowing repairs to be carried out quicker, minimising ramp times. Consequently, we can accommodate any increased demand for exhausts and ensure that our customers can too.”

Made in the UK

Every applicable component in the Klarius range is type-approved, with the business carrying out independent certification with authorities, such as the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) in the UK and TÜV in Germany.

All products are designed, developed, tested and manufactured in-house at the Klarius headquarters in Cheadle, Staffordshire. Components are verified on vehicles of correct make, model and production year, with replacements available for cars and vans of almost any age and body style. The company applies a two-year warranty and fit first-time guarantee as standard on all products.
